Mom's For Play was started because the six of us moms saw a need for a safe and secure place for our children to play. The more we talked to the community we saw that our vision needed to be expanded and so the Vision for the St. Alban's Community Park began.
We want to create a core area for the commuinity where residents of all ages can come together on common ground for physical activity, family outings and where comunity members of all ages can socialize. The community park can help restore pride in our community and creates a desirable location to help attract new residents to St. Alban's.
Mom's For Play intends to give the residents a sense of control over the community's needs by listening to their choices, showing that every residents opinion matters.

In With the New

On Monday Evening September 12, 2011 Tom and Ross Willcott were on hand at he park site to begin sizing up where the new fence will go. 

On Tuesday September 13, 2011 Tom and Ross were on hand to vounteer their time and expertise to peg out where the pole for the new fence will go.

The Construction Begins

On Thursday Sept 8, 2011 Roderick McNeil, Colin McNeil Jr., Jamie Howse, Steve Organ, Keith Walsh, Christopher Howse & Francis McNeil  volunteered their time, talent and equipment to begin the first step in our community park........out with the old and in with the new.  Before we can build the park the old fence, bleachers, dugouts, and batters cage had to come down.  The men work tirelessly from 6:30pm till 9:00pm and accomplished removing the chain link and top rail from both sides of the fence, both players benches and the poles from the front side removed from the ground thanks to the generous owners of McNeils Construction for donating their heavy equipment and their expertise.

On Friday September 9, 2011 Roderick McNeil, Francis McNeil, Jamie Howse and Steve Organ we back to work from 6:30pm till 8:30pm to remove the remaining pole and to begin dismantling the batters cage.

On Monday Sept, 12, 2011 Jamie Howse spent the day cutting down the batters cage and bleachers to get them ready for removal later in the evening.  By 6:30pm a crew consisting of Roderick McNeil, Jamie Howse, Cory Organ, Jake Howse and Jody Collier were on hand and they spent the evening loading the dismantled batters cage and bleachers into a dump truck as well as on a flat bed to be removed from the site.  They also dug up the concrete from the existing dugout for removal.  






A Huge thank-you goes out to McNeils Construction for volunteering their time, talent and equipment for the three evening it took to get the site preparation begun as well as the men who gave up there days and evenings to offer free physical labour without hesitation and to J&G Colliers Ltd. for donating their time and equipment to haul away the old materials.  It is the effort of volunteers that will help make this project a success.

Lemonade Stand

On Saturday Aug 20, 2011 Brooklyn Framp and Ryan Harding (Age 6) took it upon themselves along with the help of their moms to do a lemonade stand at Clover Farm and over the day they managed to raise $112.22 for the Community Park.  Thanks and congratulations Brooklyn and Ryan!!!!
