Mom's For Play was started because the six of us moms saw a need for a safe and secure place for our children to play. The more we talked to the community we saw that our vision needed to be expanded and so the Vision for the St. Alban's Community Park began.
We want to create a core area for the commuinity where residents of all ages can come together on common ground for physical activity, family outings and where comunity members of all ages can socialize. The community park can help restore pride in our community and creates a desirable location to help attract new residents to St. Alban's.
Mom's For Play intends to give the residents a sense of control over the community's needs by listening to their choices, showing that every residents opinion matters.

Community Flea Market

The Lions Club was a buzz today for the Community Flea Market! There were approximately 22 tables set up with many different articles for sale, from clothing and toys to bikes, sleds and household items.  Everyone was happy to come out and support this great cause and just as excited to make some money off their gently used belongings.

Riffs donated a whole rack of new clothing and Con Organ donated three TV's with all proceeds going to the Community Park.

Mom's For Play sold tickets on a basket of assorted goodies.  One Hundred tickets were printed and all were sold in the first hour.

The Winning ticket was drawn at the Flea Market by Amber Roberts and the winner was Dianne Willcott!

Week One

Tomorrow marks one week since Mom's For Play announced that St. Alban's is receiving a Let Them Be Kids Helping Hands Award and what a week it has been.  As of today, just six days from the announcement, we have 114 volunteers registered online.  This is an amazing effort St. Alban's, let's keep them coming!  Remember it's not just build day we will need help with, we will need your support from now till build day, so if you can spare a few hours to help with different fundraisers please let us know.

We are happy to announce that on Monday June13, 2011 our Town Council informed us that The Town of St. Alban's would be donating $10,000.00 to the Community Park. This is a huge contribution to help us reach our goal!

Moms For Play has will be delivering Sears catalogs for July and Aug as a  fundraiser.  This is a great opportunity for some easy money.  The more people we can get to help the easier it will be, so if you would like to help out send us an e-mail or call Rhonda at 538-3515. Remember every little bit of help goes a long way.
